Status of VFW Canteen/BINGO Operations

Jeff Carroll Department Commander - 5/29/2020

Based on a reading of Governor Kemp's Executive Order from yesterday, VFW Canteens can open beginning June 1, 2020 provided the completely comply with the measures outlined in the order (See Page 18-20).

Bingo operations that can comply with the same rules can open as well. If you are on the GBI email list for bingo, you should get an update from them later today.

Likewise Posts can have in-person meetings if you can comply with the Social Distancing rules for groups over 25 people. Also take note of the shelter-in-place rules.

You are not required to open at this time and should only do so if your membership is comfortable with it and you can completely comply. Failure to comply can result in consequences from the State of Georgia and/or suspension of operations by the Department.

Thank-you,

Jeff Carroll
State Commander, VFW Dept of Georgia
